Carrol very plainly states that this is a "family history" rather
than a genealogy and that names and dates may be approximate rather than actual. If you have data that disagrees with what
is in the book and you feel your sources are accurate, do not change your data to agree with this book. As an example:
Carrol tells about the marriage of Amelia Roll. He obviously received his information verbally and did not research any of
the written records. The person that gave Carrol the information apparently "Americanized" the pronunciation and Carrol
spelled it the way he heard it. If he had done some research, he would have found that Amelia married Henry Schumacher, not
Henry Shoemaker. Since Henry Schumacher was my great-great-grandfather, I corrected our family data in the appropriate portion
of the book.
In addition to the above type of error possibilities, there is another cause for possible errors. The original book that
was copied was not of a very good quality for copying. Therefore, the scanner could not always pick up and properly
recognize all of the words and dates on a given page. In those cases, I manually entered/corrected the data. I may have made
some mistakes in the process.
